HELENSBURGH Heritage Trust’s final open meeting of the winter session is on Wednesday March 31 when a well known former burgh woman will return to give a talk.
Charlotte Rostek Davis, whose husband is burgh reference librarian Mike Davis, was formerly property manager and curator at Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House for six years. She moved in the summer of 2008 to become curator at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire, the Robert Adam-designed historic stately home saved for the nation after a major fundraising campaign in which Prince Charles played a leading role.
Her topic at the meeting in Helensburgh Lawn Tennis Club in Suffolk Street at 7.30pm will be ‘The fascination of Dumfries House’.
Admission is free, non-members are welcome, and afterwards tea and coffee will be served
