Equally appalling is the Council’s response which was to use national radio to blame a 9 year old and her parents. This is symptomatic of a council unable to treat, and respond to, criticism in a constructive manner.

Sons win the first leg in the play-offs

DUMBARTON won a tense and compelling battle with visitors Arbroath in the first leg of the Irn-Bru Scottish League First/Second Division promotion play-offs semi-final at the Dumbarton Football Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Arbroath skipper Stewart Malcolm gave his side — runners-up to Cowdenbeath in division two — an early lead when he rose at the far post to head a corner past keeper Stephen Grindlay and into the net.

HelensburghCC make good start

It was perhaps the most keenly-anticipated opening fixture for a long time.

But Vale of Leven Cricket Club made a losing start to their 2012 season with defeat away to local rivals Helensburgh.
After a couple of successful friendly outings ahead of the campaign getting started, Vale’s hopes were high going into the opener against their local rivals.
