E-mail Print PDF

Helensburgh and West Dunbartonshire Ramblers have planned two walks for this weekend.

On Saturday, October 3, the walk is the Callander to Aberfoyle section of the Rob Roy Way.  After taking the bus from Aberfoyle to Callander, the route starts at Invertrossachs Road with approx. 4km on tarmac.  Then it is through forest and over open ground on road and path, passing Braeval and the Dounans Centre, to return to Aberfoyle.

This easy to moderate 15km walk has a total ascent of 280m, a maximum height of 225m and will take 4½ hrs.

Sunday 4’s walk is to Beinn a’ Chrulaiste.  The route starts along part of the West Highland Way, continues with a steep climb north to the scree covered summit and then descends by a burn to Kingshouse.

This moderate to strenuous 12km walk has a total ascent of 600m, a maximum height of 857m and will take 5½ hrs.

To join the walk, meet the group at Helensburgh Pier in front of the swimming pool to depart at 9.30am.

Sorry, no dogs allowed.
